MBC radio interviews Pinehouse mayor and resident

“What they gave us, they worked on for the past three years with Cameco/Areva and Pinehouse, a collaboration agreement, but they never consulted with us on what they talked about. Finally a public meeting was held on November 13th. They finally talked about it. We had 20 minutes to look at it.” – Dale Smith

On December 13th, MBC radio interviewed Pinehouse mayor Mike Natomagan and Pinehouse resident Dale Smith. Committee for Future Generations member Max Morin translated parts of the interview from Michif and Cree to produce a complete transcript of the interviews in English. Audio files will be posted soon.

  1. Waste dumps eventualy get bigger and bigger that could run off into our waterways and affect all the surrounding communities. Does anyone eles get to vote on this, or is it up to Pinehouse’s mayor and council to control the future of ours and future generations to come?

    • Mister G, the only way the nuclear industry has been getting “approval” to proceed with their projects is by mostly secret deals bribing the weak links in our governance. A group of concerned citizens in Pinehouse, several regional communities and provinces have joined together and are proceeding with legal action against the total lack of duty to consult. You are absolutely correct that we are all downstream. If you’re interested in supporting this legal action officially, morally and/or financially, please email committeeforfuturegenerations@gmail.com and we’ll provide the details
