Our allies down south are asking others to attend the University of Saskatchewan Board of Governors Annual Public Meeting in Saskatoon to raise the issue of the nuclear industry’s inordinate influence at the University and to urge a change in direction. The four new board members include Grant Isaac, Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Saskatoon-based uranium mining giant Cameco. Also, the recently appointed University Secretary who will be replacing Lea Pennock in April is Elizabeth Williamson, the current Director of Legal Services in Governance for Cameco. According to the University, “The board’s annual meeting gives you, as a member of the university’s community, the opportunity to ask board members any questions you may have for them about their oversight of the university’s resources. Questions from the audience will guide the conversation.”
The meeting will take place on Monday, March 4, noon-1pm at Convocation Hall.
