Round Dance with the Stanley Mission walkers

Stanley Mission walkers Round Dance day 2Today the Committee for Future Generations met the Stanley Mission walkers north of La Ronge to hand them a Sacred Eagle Staff that had been gifted for our 850km walk from Pinehouse to Regina against nuclear waste in 2011. This Eagle Staff will now carry these walkers as they journey to protect all life. The day ended with a Round Dance by the highway, with drummers and singers from Sturgeon Lake First Nation. The Staff is visible being carried by Elder Joyce McKenzie, one of the walkers headed for Ottawa. Today marked Day 2 of the Stanley Mission walkers’ Sacred Journey for Future Generations to Ottawa to speak for the water, the land and the animals against the omnibus bills and in solidarity with Idle No More.
