Committee for Future Generations members Marius Paul (top), who is also an English River First Nation (ERFN) member, and Eileen Bear (bottom) hold signs at today’s demonstration outside the ERFN-owned gas station just south of Saskatoon. The ERFN, along with Creighton and Pinehouse in Saskatchewan and 17 communities in Ontario, is currently participating in the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO)’s site selection process for a host community for a deep geological repository to store Canada’s high-level nuclear waste — the spent fuel from nuclear reactors out east.

“We don’t want a nuclear dump in northern Saskatchewan, or anywhere in Saskatchewan,” said Emil Bell. Read a CBC article on today’s demonstration here.
